How Do I Delete Several Members at Once?

This article shows you how to delete several members in one step from the Members list. Owners and Org Admins can do this from Members > List Actions.

Before you start: Delete removes the selected members from the Members list, and the Status filter has no Deleted choice. To keep a former resident's history, use Deactivate instead. See How Do I Activate or Deactivate Several Members at Once?

When would you use this?

  • You entered several duplicate member records by mistake and want to delete them in one pass.
Steps
  1. Click Members in the left nav.
  2. Check the box at the left of each member you want to include. To include every member that matches your current search and filter, check the box in the table header (its label is Select All). The Selected counter next to "Showing" shows how many members are chosen.

  3. Click List Actions and choose Delete. Add Member is always available; the other choices are grayed out until at least one member is checked.

List Actions menu open with the Activate, Deactivate, Delete, Invite, and Uninvite choices highlighted

  4. Read the confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to delete 3 Member account(s)? Your own account will not be deleted." You can type an optional reason in the Notes box.
  5. Click Yes to continue, or No to cancel without changing anything.
  6. Read the result message and click OK. It states how many members were changed and how many were skipped. For three selected members it reads: "You have deleted 3 Member account(s). 0 account(s) skipped. Your own account will not be deleted."
Good to Know
  • The header checkbox selects every member that matches your current search and filter, not only the 20 rows loaded on the screen. With 23 matching members and 20 rows showing, the counter reads Selected: 23. Search or filter first when you want a smaller group.
  • The Delete confirmation states that your own account is not deleted.
  • After an action finishes, the Selected counter returns to 0.
