# What Is the Member Directory?
The Member Directory is a page where the people in your organization can look each other up. Each person appears as a card showing their name and email address, and a search box at the top helps you find someone quickly.
##### How to Get There
1. Click Member Directory in the left nav.
##### What You'll See
- A search box labeled "Search by name or email address." Type part of a name or email address and click Search to narrow the cards to matching people.
- One card per person, showing their initials, their name, and their email address. Long email addresses are shortened with "..." on the card.
The directory is view-only. There are no buttons to edit, delete, or send anything from it — it is simply a lookup list.
##### Who Appears in the Directory
Only people whose "Include me in the member directory" setting is turned on appear. When that setting is on, other members of the organization can see that person's name, email address, and phone number in the directory. Anyone can turn their own setting off at any time to hide themselves, and back on again whenever they like.
##### Example
You just moved into the community and want to reach the neighbor who chairs the landscaping committee. Open the Member Directory, type their last name into the search box, and click Search. Their card shows the email address you can use to contact them.
*Note: If someone you expect to see isn't listed, they may have chosen to hide themselves from the directory. See "How Do I Remove Myself from the Member Directory?" for how a person controls this for their own profile.*
