What Are the Automated Email Types?

Message Center > Email History's Type column separates emails into: staff-sent (Email Blast) and automatic system emails. This article covers the automated types.

When Would You Use This?
  • Confirm what an email a member received was for.
  • Tell at a glance in Email History which entries were manual vs automated.
Where to See These
  1. Go to Message Center > Email History.
  2. Look at the Type column for each row.
The Automated Types
  • Invitation to Join — sent when a member is invited to create a login. Subject: "You've been invited to join [Organization Name]."
  • New Invoice — sent when a new invoice is issued (manual or via Invoice Schedule). Subject: "[Member], you have an invoice from [Organization Name]."
  • Invoice Due Today — sent the day an open invoice's due date arrives, still unpaid. Subject: "[Member], payment for your invoice from [Organization Name] is due today."
  • Invoice Past Due — sent after due date passes unpaid. Subject: "[Member], payment for your invoice from [Organization Name] is late."
  • Late Fee Added — sent when a late fee is applied. Subject: "Your payment to [Organization Name] for '[Invoice Name]' is subject to a late fee."
  • Late Fee Removed — sent when a late fee is waived. Subject: "Late fees on your [Organization Name] invoice for '[Invoice Name]' have been waived."
  • Invoice Voided — sent when staff/admin voids an invoice. Subject: "[Member], your invoice from [Organization Name] has been voided."
Good to Know
  • These emails go out automatically; Invoice Due Today/Past Due were observed going out around 2:00 AM in the account's timezone (a scheduled daily check, not a live trigger).
  • The list above covers types this article could directly confirm; other Type labels in Email History are generally self-explanatory.
  • Every automated email shows a Status (Delivered, Opened, etc.) like manual Email Blast sends.

Note: Automated emails cannot be turned off individually from Email History — they're a byproduct of the action that triggered them, not a separate setting to configure.
