[Properties](https://help.hoastart.app/properties?hsLang=en) # Understanding the Properties List **Properties** is the left-hand nav tab that lists every physical property (a unit, lot, or address) belonging to the currently-selected organization. A property is the thing being managed — an address with a title — and members are attached to it as Owners or Tenants. Above the table, "Showing: X of Y" counts the properties, the checkboxes let you select rows (the checkbox in the header row selects every row on the page, and the Selected count shows how many rows are checked), and the arrows on a column header sort by that column. You can also search, filter, and sort the list (see [How Do I Search, Filter, and Sort the Properties List](https://help.hoastart.app/how-do-i-search-filter-and-sort-the-properties-list?hsLang=en)). To add or remove properties, use List Actions (see [How Do I Add a New Property](https://help.hoastart.app/how-do-i-add-a-new-property?hsLang=en) and [How Do I Delete a Property](https://help.hoastart.app/how-do-i-delete-a-property?hsLang=en)). To open one property, choose View from its Actions menu (see [What Is the Property Profile Page](https://help.hoastart.app/what-is-the-property-profile-page?hsLang=en)). ##### **The columns** ![The Properties list and its columns](https://help.hoastart.app/hs-fs/hubfs/1-properties-columns.png?width=600&name=1-properties-columns.png) - **Address** — the property's street address and city/state/zip, shown on two lines. - **Title** — the display name of the property. This does not have to match the address. A community can title properties after a unit label ("Unit 204") or the street address itself. - **Lot Number** — an optional short code some communities use to identify a lot within a subdivision (for example, "v-88"). Many properties leave this blank, shown as a dash. - **Member Count** — how many members (owners/tenants) are currently attached to this property. - **Status** — Active or Inactive.
