How Do I Upload Files to Document Center
When Would You Use This?
Staff use Document Center uploads to keep organization records in one place members and admins can find later — for example, scanning and storing a signed contract, adding photos from a community event, or uploading a PDF of the CC&Rs so members can reference it themselves instead of calling in.
How to Upload
There are two ways to get files into Document Center:
Drag and drop — the fastest route for most staff:
- Switch into the organization and go to Document Center.
- Open the folder you want to add files to (or stay at the root).
- Drag one or more files from your desktop or file explorer and drop them anywhere in the folder view.
Traditional upload dialog:
- Open the folder you want to add files to.
- Click Actions.
- Choose Upload files, then pick the file(s) from the file browser dialog.
A progress indicator appears in the bottom-right corner while the upload runs, and a confirmation ("Upload complete") shows once it finishes.
Good to Know
- Each file can be up to 250 MB. See the article on maximum file size and type limits for details on what happens if a file is too large.
- Uploading directly into a folder means the new file immediately inherits that folder's permission level (Admin only, Member read, or Public) — there's no extra step to set access on the file itself.
- Uploads at the root level (outside any folder) aren't available — Upload files only appears in the Actions menu while inside a folder. At the root, Actions only offers New folder.
