# How Do I Delete a Property

##### **When would you use this?**

- A property was entered twice by mistake and needs to be removed.
- A unit is being decommissioned or demolished and should no longer appear in active lists.
- A test/placeholder property needs to be cleaned up after data entry practice.

**Warning:** Deleting a property is permanent and cannot be undone from the interface, and it voids all unpaid invoices for that property.

##### **Steps**

1. From the Properties list, open the row's **Actions** dropdown and choose **Delete**. You can also open the property with **Actions** \> **View**, then click **Actions** on the Property Profile page and choose **Delete**.

A confirmation window asks, "Are you sure you want to delete the Property \[name\]? Deletion of this Property will void all unpaid invoices associated with it." It also offers an optional Notes box — useful for recording why the property is being removed.

1. Click **Yes** to confirm, or **No** to cancel without making any changes.

##### **What happens after deleting**

A message, “Property has been deleted successfully.”, appears — click OK. The property disappears from the Properties list right away. Deleting a property is permanent: the Property Status filter only offers Active and Inactive, so a deleted property doesn’t appear under either one, and there is no button to restore it. Double-check the property before you confirm.

##### **Deleting more than one property at once**

Check the boxes next to multiple rows in the Properties list, then open the **List Actions** dropdown (top-right, above the table) and choose **Delete**.

The confirmation for a bulk delete adds an extra safety step: along with the same warning about voiding unpaid invoices, it asks you to type **DELETE PROPERTIES** in a confirmation field before you click Yes.
