How Do I Delete a Member Record

When would you use this?

Delete is meant only for data entered in error — for example, a duplicate member record, or a member added with a typo'd name or wrong identity. It is not the right tool for a former resident; use Deactivate instead so their invoice and payment history is preserved (see "Activate or Deactivate a Member").

Steps
  1. From the Members list, select the member's row.
  2. Open the bulk (or row-level) Actions menu and choose Delete.
  1. A confirmation dialog appears: "Are you sure you want to delete [Name]'s Member account?" with an optional Notes field and Yes/No buttons.
  1. Click Yes to confirm.

Check the boxes next to multiple rows in the Members list, then choose Delete from the bulk Actions menu.

What happens after deleting

Delete is a genuine hard delete, not a soft "Deleted" status. Once confirmed, the member disappears entirely from the Members list — including when filtering the Status dropdown to a "Deleted" option, and when searching by the member's exact name or email. There is no recovery path visible in the interface once Delete is confirmed.

By contrast, Deactivate only changes Status to Inactive, and the record, profile, and history tabs stay fully intact and searchable. In short: Deactivate preserves history; Delete erases the record outright.
